Claus Preisinger Kalkestein Blaufränkisch is a natural, organic and biodynamic barrel-aged red wine made by Claus Preisinger with the Blaufränkisch variety in Burgenland (Austria).
Claus Preisinger Kalkestein Blaufränkisch is made with Blaufränkisch, a variety native in the Austro-Hungarian region that is planted in fossil-rich limestone soils. These grapes are cultivated through 100% organic agriculture, using biodynamic treatments based on natural fertilisers, plants and moon phases. They ripen late and are harvested manually.
In the winery, the Claus Preisinger Kalkestein Blaufränkisch grapes are gently crushed and then spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. Finally the wine ages in used barrels for 6 months. It is finally bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphur.
